Summary
 

Working with a Global DC Operator, on a specialist fit out of two data halls for a Cloud Technology end customer. VIPA Digital undertook a technical project implementation and management role.

Brief

 

Our client has continued to grow rapidly across the UK and Europe, with a series of data centre construction projects underway. One such project was the fit out of two data halls within an existing facility, including the deployment of technology space, an office and other supporting areas and upgrade of a security platform.

The end customer was involved from inception and due to their own timescales, requested access to the space ahead of practical completion, and a large amount of support from the construction team. VIPA Digital were engaged to provide Implementation support, to work with the existing team, supporting the interface between the construction groups and customer to facilitate delivery to program, enable early access and mitigate the risk of late delivery and working within a live data centre.

Delivery

VIPA Digital were able to provide an additional, full time project implementation manager to strengthen the existing team. By utilising our extensive experience in construction management and implementation, the VIPA team were able to support the interface between client, contractor and end user and help successfully deliver the project.

 

 

 Results

​

This project emphasised the importance of having a dedicated project implementation manager, who was able to liaise between the on-site operations and construction team, whilst ensuring the specific requirements of the end customer were met.
